It often happens that a person feels ill, goes to the doctors, doing many surveys, but no one can set a right diagnosis. Why is this happening? As the medical practice shows, often the symptoms of various diseases are hiding a vegetative dystonia. Many have heard about the disease, but only few know something definite. Thus, we are going to discuss the system of the body, its illness and cure, using vegetative dystonia as example.
Nowadays many people are affected by vegetative dystonia because we live in a fast changing world, which needs fast decisions and reactions. Everyone knows what the term stress means and almost everyone experiences stress in everyday life. Stress is a condition when the body is mobilizing to solve the vital problem, escape the danger. Situation with an anxiety has the same nature: a person experiences anxiety, but believes that there are no worries, and he is ‘busy with some serious life problems’. Internal stress is perceived as normal, even important ‘concentration’; mood changes – as the natural response to certain events, while sleep disorders – as ‘dedication to the work’. In such a way, it is necessary to admit that vegetative dystonia is a payment for our own lack of attention to their spiritual life. Therefore, if people truly will care about themselves, if they will understand that the quality of life is not determined by something except their own mental state, if, finally, they will study psychology and will learn the ways how to prevent possible psychological problems, it is likely lead to the disappearance of vegetative dystonia. Thus, I’m interested in the investigation of vegetative dystonia because our life is full of stresses and it is important to find the way to answer them in proper way. In addition, I’m going to research this topic because it includes a big majority of interesting components that will be observed in the next paragraphs.
In this part of the paper it is necessary to mention that I have researched the topic making a practical experiment and consulting with my friend, who is a doctor in a hospital. It was found that vegetative-vascular dystonia manifests a variety of unpleasant bodily sensations such as palpitations, arrhythmias, dyspnea, fluctuations in blood pressure, pain in the heart, headaches, often abdominal pain. Patients may experience syncope, presyncope, dizziness, and unsteadiness during the walking. It is also characterized by a high temperature flashes, excessive sweating, or, conversely, the feeling of chills, fever of unknown origin.
As the name implies, vegetative dystonia is a disorder of autonomic nervous system. Thus, it is important to explain a necessity of this system for human existence. The autonomic system – is a part of the human nervous system; its parts are located in all parts of the body. The main function of the autonomic nervous system is to adapt the internal organs to the changing environment. For example, when the body gets food, its processing stages involve various parts of the digestive tract, while their work is coordinated by autonomic nervous system.
Practical researches on the topic have proved that the vessels are also connected with the autonomic system. It gives the disease its second part of the name – vegetative-vascular dystonia. Vessels, literally, are braided by autonomic nerves that constrict or expand them. The first sign of the disease is usually associated with this dysfunction of blood vessels. This can be either permanent vasospasm or, conversely, their over-extension. Vegetative dystonia almost always spasms cerebral arteries, while veins, on the contrary, are expanded when the rate of blood flow is significantly reduced in them. It turns out that, on the one hand, the brain suffers from lack of arterial blood oxygen-rich; on the other hand, since there is a problem with the outflow of venous blood, brain cells are full of destroying components.
The most common causes of vegetative-vascular dystonia are emotional disorders, neurotic disorders, the effects of emotional stress. Often, vegetative dystonia occurs or worsens during periods of hormonal changes – menopause, puberty, after the end of breastfeeding while taking medications, contraceptive pills or hormone replacement therapy. Overload of brain cells is automatically transmitted to the structure of the spinal cord, and thence by autonomic nerves in the autonomic nodes. Vegetative nodes are clusters of nerve cells at the side of the spinal column. In addition, each node has its vegetative activity, which is called metamer. In this territory it controls all the vessels (widens and narrows them, depending on external circumstances), nutrition of tissues, their regulators.
The clinical picture of vegetative dystonia comprises a number of syndromes. The diagnosis of vegetative dystonia primarily involves the exclusion of organic medical illness, especially in cases where the clinical picture is dominated by disorders of the only one system. In this case, diagnosis of vegetative disorders, according to Forsstrom (2010), should be based not only on the negative criteria (autonomic disorders can not be explained by the presence of physical illness), but also on positive criteria (presence of a temporary connection between autonomic dysfunction and stressful situation, or changes in the mental condition of the patient, the presence of the so-called rent situation in which the patient may consciously or unconsciously extract benefits from the illness), on unusual description of the symptoms, dissociation between the severity of pain and the behavior of the patient, the presence of autonomic myltisystem disorders or multifocal painful manifestations, resistance to therapy.

There is no doubt that this information will help me in the future because vegetative dystonia is one of the most popular diseases in our world, and every person should know the facts about it to be able to protect not only own health, but also the health of relatives. In addition, my practical experiment stated that vegetative dystonia can significantly disrupt a patient’s quality of life and even lead to disability.
Thus, taking everything into consideration it is possible to say in conclusion that vegetative dystonia and its impact on vegetative system have been observed with all necessary details. The paper presents a thorough research of the problem and provides possible ways of its decision. To sum up, vegetative dystonia is a so-called systemic illness that is the problem of the whole organism (in view of the structure of the autonomic nervous system). Indeed, local problems in the body generally does not happen, there is only local symptoms or syndromes underlying systemic disorders. The autonomic nervous system, with its central and peripheral structures literally permeates the entire body, controlling it and staying away completely dependent. Therefore, for the normal functioning of the autonomic nervous system very great importance has health-restoring measures, which primarily concerns the right lifestyle (regime, adequate physical activity, timely rest, healthy food, water procedures, a reasonable conditioning to the cold, etc.).
